Install Pase24

How to install Pase24 on your phone or tablet.

Pase24 isn't on the App Store or Google Play — it installs directly from your browser in 20 seconds. It looks and works just like a native app, but without store downloads or updates to chase.

On iPhone (Safari)

  1. 1
Open Safari and go to pase24.app
  2. 2
Tap the share button (the square with an arrow pointing up, at the bottom center)
  3. 3
Scroll down and choose "Add to Home Screen"
  4. 4
Confirm the name "Pase24" and tap "Add" at the top right

Done. The Pase24 icon appears on your home screen like any other app.

On Android (Chrome)

  1. 1
Open Chrome and go to pase24.app
  2. 2
Tap the menu (three vertical dots at the top right)
  3. 3
Choose "Install app" or "Add to Home screen" (depending on your Chrome version)
  4. 4
    Confirm by tapping "Install"

Done. The icon stays on your home screen and also in the app drawer.

On the gatehouse tablet

If the gatehouse uses an Android tablet or an iPad, the process is the same as above. We recommend keeping Pase24 fixed in full screen: the gatehouse opens the app, scans all day, and never sees the browser or other apps.

On iPad, after installing you can enable "Guided Access" in Settings → Accessibility so the tablet only shows Pase24 during the shift.

On computer

If you manage Pase24 from a laptop or desktop, you can also install it as an app — it opens in its own window without browser bars, appears in your dock or taskbar like any program, and launches with one click.

On Chrome or Edge (Windows, Mac, Linux)

  1. 1
Open the browser and go to pase24.app
  2. 2
In the address bar, look for the install icon on the right (a screen with a down arrow), or open the menu (three dots) and choose "Install Pase24"
  3. 3
    Confirm by tapping "Install"

On Safari (Mac)

  1. 1
Open Safari and go to pase24.app
  2. 2
In the menu bar, click File → Add to Dock
  3. 3
Confirm the name and click "Add"

If your Mac runs macOS 13 or earlier, Safari doesn't support installing PWAs — use Chrome or Edge from the Mac App Store.

Pase24 appears in your Applications (Mac) or Start Menu (Windows) and opens in its own window, independent of which browser you use afterward.

After installing

Once installed, Pase24 behaves like any native app:

  • Appears with its icon on your home screen
  • Opens in full screen, without a browser bar
  • Opens from that icon with a tap, no need to open the browser each time
  • Has its own entry in your phone's multitasking view

For your resident or your guard, the experience is indistinguishable from an app downloaded from the App Store.

Why Pase24 is distributed this way

We decided to build Pase24 as a web app (PWA) from day one. It's not a technical limitation, it's how we chose to operate. Here are the concrete reasons:

Updates for everyone at the same time

When we make an improvement or fix a bug, all users receive it on the next refresh. There's no need to wait for each resident to update from the App Store. The version the gatehouse sees is always the same as the one the administrator and the resident see.

Works on any device

iOS, Android, Windows, Mac, Linux, tablets, desktop computers. One single link, one single account. If the gatehouse changes tablets, there's nothing to reinstall — you access from the browser.

Doesn't take up unnecessary space

A native app weighs between 50 and 200 MB. Pase24 uses a few MB of browser cache. Residents' phones don't fill up from using the building system.

No dependency on Apple or Google approval

When we fix an urgent problem, it ships that same day. We don't go through store review that can take days or reject the version for reasons unrelated to the product. You and your residents receive improvements when we make them, not when Apple decides.

Compatible with the hardware you already have

Any tablet or phone from the last 5-6 years works. There's no mandatory minimum operating system version. The gatehouse can use the used Android from a friend of the manager's kid — it works the same.

No installation friction

No need to create an Apple ID or Google Play account, no large downloads, no accepting 40 permissions. The resident opens the link, sees the app, uses it.

Frequently asked questions about installation

Will it be on the App Store someday?

No, and it's not a limitation — it's how we chose to operate. Being outside the App Store lets us improve the product and ship fixes the same day, without depending on Apple or Google's approval. It's an advantage for you: you receive improvements when we make them, not when the store decides to approve them.

Does it need internet to work?

Yes. Pase24 is a cloud system — the gatehouse validates passes against the server on the spot, QRs rotate every 2 minutes, and notifications to the resident travel live. You need a stable connection at the gatehouse and on the resident's phone for critical operations.

What if my device is old?

It works on any phone or tablet less than about 6 years old. If your device can open Chrome or Safari in a recent version, it can use Pase24. If something doesn't work, contact us and we'll help you diagnose.

Is it safe to install Pase24 outside the App Store?

Yes. When installing Pase24 you don't download any executable file or grant special system permissions — you just add a shortcut to the pase24.app website. All the code runs inside the browser with the same security controls you use when accessing your bank. There's no risk of viruses or malware because there's no real software installation, just an icon on your screen.

Can I use Pase24 without installing it?

Yes, but it's less convenient. You can go to pase24.app from the browser each time. Installing it as an app saves you that step — you open it from the icon directly.

Trouble installing?
